CBT for Menopause

Menopause and Emotional Wellbeing

It is well established that the fluctuations in the oestrogen and progesterone levels during the peri-menopause and menopause have an impact  not only on women's physical body but on their mental and emotional wellbeing. All too often, women during their 40s and 50s when they experience emotional difficulties are diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety and treated with antidepressants, without much consideration of the effect the hormonal changes can have on their mental health.

CBT for Menopause

CBT is recognised as an effective treatment for treating anxiety and low mood and it can be used successfully in supporting women to learn strategies to cope with the emotional and mental health symptoms caused by the peri-menopause and menopause. The sessions are designed to increase awareness of the links between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how we can effect change that will improve the way we respond to situations that trigger an emotional response.

Using a tailored approach to meet your specific needs, our experienced Psychologists  can help in understanding your psychological symptoms and identifying your own personal resources to build on these and enable change

Change is a process, not an event. If you need to start that process then please contact us to discuss your current needs.
