Counselling is a type of talking therapy that can help with a range of difficulties like stress, depression, relationship problems, bereavement, loss or a sense of dissatisfaction with life.

CBT can help you manage your emotional difficulties in a more effective way by encouraging you to examine the links between your thoughts and behaviours and how they impact on your emotions. CBT is proven to be an effective therapy for depression, anxiety disorders (panic, OCD, Post-Traumatic Stress, phobias, etc) and many other emotional difficulties.

Psychotherapy is a more in-depth form of therapy than counselling which can help you consider how your past and recent life experiences influence your current thoughts, feelings and behaviour and the way you relate to others. Psychotherapy can help address more deep seated and longstanding emotional difficulties that cause mental distress.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a relatively new type of therapy that uses your own rapid eye movement to help process emotionally charged memories. This therapy has been extensively researched over the past 30 years and it has been proven to be an effective approach in dealing primarily with trauma. However many clinicians have registered positive outcomes when using EMDR with a range of issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, depression, complicated grief and other emotional difficulties. EMDR helps by removing the emotional charge associated with disturbing events from the past, allowing you to make sense of those events and feel less overwhelmed by them.

Couples therapy can be beneficial when you are concerned about your relationship and feel you are unable to address your difficulties alone. This type of therapy is designed to help explore and resolve difficulties within an intimate relationship by understanding the nature of the conflict and improving communication between the partners.

Mindfulness - Mindfulness based therapies combine meditation with talking therapies and it can help with reducing stress, managing difficult thoughts and feelings and learning new coping strategies. This type of intervention is particularly useful to prevent people who have had depression from experiencing the same problems again.
